Outstanding Milestone

Over the years, our Branch has evolved through several identities, operating under the names BFCE (1992), Natexis Banque (1995), Natexis Banques Populaires (1998), Natixis (2006), and officially becoming BPCE IOM in May 2015.

From its early days, the Bank has played a meaningful role in the development of Vietnam’s financial sector, marked by a number of industry firsts and strategic milestones:

– 1992: Introduction of the Visa card payment system in partnership with Vietcombank

– 1992: Participation in the first banking syndication for Vietnam Airlines to acquire two ATR 72 aircraft

– 1996: Contribution to the establishment of Vietnam’s first leasing company (a strategic partner of VILC)

– 2005: First foreign bank to finance Vietnam-flagged vessels secured by domestic mortgages

– 2009: Appointed mandated lead arranger for VNPT’s first international syndicated loan

– 2010: Natixis recognized by EuroWeek Asia as Best Arranger of Syndicated Loans in Vietnam

– 2011: Launch of the Branch’s SME development strategy

– 2022: Implementation of a new strategic plan focusing on delivering Groupe BPCE’s solutions to Vietnamese corporates and international clients, from mid-sized companies to large enterprises

Acting as a bridge between Vietnam and the European Union, the Branch has, since the early 1990s, actively supported trade finance for Vietnamese importers and exporters — particularly in the agri-food sector — strengthened ties with the local banking system, supported foreign investors, and financed major projects. These achievements define more than three decades of sustained presence and contribution in Vietnam.
